This page explains what happens to your details if you fill in the form on this website. It is written in plain English on purpose. Last updated 1 September 2026.
Who we are

What the form collects
The contact form asks for your name, your phone number, your email address, your vehicle registration and a message. Only your name and the message are compulsory, plus either a phone number or an email address so we have some way of replying.
Your vehicle registration is optional. It is useful to us because it tells us the make, model and engine before you arrive, but you do not have to give it.
What we do with it
We use it to answer your enquiry, and to quote for or carry out work on your vehicle. That is all. We do not send marketing, we do not build a mailing list, and we do not sell, share or pass your details to anyone else for their own purposes.
In data protection terms, we handle it because it is in our legitimate interest to reply to someone who has asked us a question about their car, and where the enquiry leads to work, because we need it to carry out that work for you.
Where it goes and how long we keep it
Nothing you type into the form is stored on this website. There is no database and no admin login behind it. When you press send, the form is passed to a relay service called Web3Forms, which converts it into an email and delivers it to our inbox. It does not keep a copy of the message content.
After that, your enquiry lives in our email inbox like any other email, and in our job records if the work goes ahead. We keep enquiry emails for up to two years. Records of work actually carried out are kept for up to six years, because that is how long we may need them for warranty, MOT history and tax purposes.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel and no third-party tracker. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without collecting anything that identifies you personally. That is why there is no cookie banner on this site: there is nothing to ask you to consent to.
The site is served through Cloudflare, which processes IP addresses briefly as part of delivering the page and blocking attacks. That is a normal part of hosting a website.
Links away from this site
The "Get directions" link opens Google Maps. Once you are there, you are covered by Google's privacy policy, not ours.
Your rights
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Phone 01409 255552 or email pitstopgarageholsworthy@gmail.com and say what you want done. We will deal with it within one month and it will not cost you anything.
The one thing we cannot delete on request is a record we are legally required to keep, such as the record of an MOT test. If that applies we will tell you which record it is and why.
If you are not happy
Tell us first and we will try to sort it out. If you are still not satisfied you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
